The Ágora project arose as a proposal supported by the IAU100, and it was developed since 2019 in a difficult way, due to the pandemic years.
As we have already highlighted, the proposal consists of a series of brief, spontaneous, unplanned “interventions”, carried out by professional and amateur astronomers in public spaces, where an astronomical talk is not expected, as a means of modifying actions designed for general audiences.
This initiative is also a tribute to the first male and female astronomers, who taught in the open air, with no resources other than their hands, their eyes, their voices and, of course, their brains.
The times we live in offer us the possibility of expanding interventions through technology: social networks, online forums, people interconnected in real time, ensure a contact that can sometimes lead us to imagine a fantasy world that, as we know, is absolutely real and a manifestation of what human beings can do.
Adhering to the International Day of Light 2023, the Ágora Project decided to relaunch as ÁGORA RELOADED.
In this space, we will report on the activities that will take place throughout the year, some planned and others spontaneous, sponsored by Ágora.
We invite you to be part of the adventure!
